Addie (Wise) Myles, affectionately known to all as Addie, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Providence, Rhode Island, at the age of 83. Born November 5, 1941, in Zebulon, Wake County, North Carolina, Addie was the loving daughter of the late Roosevelt and Miney (Jefferys) Wise, and a cherished sibling to her brothers and sisters.
Addie's life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family, her faith, and the joy she found in simple pleasures. She was the proud and loving mother of seven children: Brenda Guy, Robin Diop, Janet Young, Robert Robertson, Tiffany Robertson, Angela Robertson, and Alicia Robertson. Her children remember her as a pillar of strength, love, and generosity, a legacy that she leaves behind in the hearts of her family.
She was a sister of great affection, sharing her life with her brothers Ernest Wise and Bobby Wise. Addie was predeceased by her siblings Albert Wise, Willistine Vieira, and Linda McNeil, but the bonds of family extended through her many nieces and nephews, who will fondly recall her kindness and spirited nature.
Addie was a beacon of love and guidance not only to her immediate family but also to her extensive family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.
Throughout her life, Addie dedicated herself to the care of her family as a homemaker, a role she embraced with grace and dedication. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where she nurtured her family with open arms and an open heart. A former resident of Florida, Addie found her community in Providence, RI, where she continued to make a lasting impact on those around her.
Addie's faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses was central to her life. She was an active member of the East Gainesville Hall in Florida and maintained her spiritual commitments with devotion. Her relationship with Jehovah was a source of great comfort and strength, guiding her through life's challenges and joys.
Her interests and hobbies reflected the love she had for life and the world around her. Addie's passion for dancing was infectious, and she could often be found moving to the rhythm of her favorite tunes, bringing smiles to the faces of all who watched. Fishing was another pastime that brought her peace and contentment, a testament to her appreciation for nature's beauty.
Above all, Addie was known for her unwavering care for her grandchildren. She dedicated countless hours to their upbringing, instilling in them values of love, faith, and resilience. Her nurturing spirit was a gift to her family, and her presence will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to feel her love.
As we say goodbye to Addie (Wise) Myles, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love she gave so freely. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit remains a guiding light for her family and all who knew her.
