Alice C. (Joaquim) Rebello

Cumberland - Alice C. (Joaquim) Rebello, a cherished matriarch and beacon of love, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Thursday , November 20, 2025, at West Shore Health Center in Warwick. Born on March 19, 1933, in Sao Joao Ribeira Maior, Portugal, Alice was the beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (do Carmo) Joaquim. She was the devoted wife of the late Anthony "Chuck" Rebello, with whom she shared a life full of joy and dedication until his passing.

Alice brought warmth and kindness to every life she touched. She was a loving mother to her seven children: Anthony Rebello of Surrey, England; Mark Rebello of Pawtucket; Debra Vieira of Rehoboth; Kathleen Rebello of Warwick; Brenda Rebello Reyes of Cranston; and Lisa Grant of Virginia Beach, VA, and Rosanne Rebello of Warwick, RI. Her nurturing spirit extended to her role as a sister, outliving her brothers, the late Joseph and Jerome Joaquim. Alice's legacy continued to flourish through her ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the wisdom and tenderness she bestowed upon them. She also left behind two beloved nieces, who, along with the rest of her family, felt the depth of her caring and selfless nature.

A longtime resident of Cumberland since 2017, Alice was previously a cornerstone of her Cranston community. As a devout parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Alice's vocation as a homemaker was a testament to her selflessness and dedication. She created a home filled with love and comfort, always ensuring that her family was well cared for and supported.

Alice's interests were as nurturing as her spirit. She found joy in crocheting, creating intricate and beautiful pieces that were tangible expressions of her affection. Her gardens were a testament to her patience and attention to detail, blooming with life under her gentle care. An avid reader, Alice traveled through the pages of countless books, each one an adventure that she delighted in. In the kitchen, her cooking brought people together, her recipes a legacy of her Portuguese heritage and her love for her family. The beach was a place of serenity for Alice, where the ebb and flow of the tides mirrored her calm and gentle demeanor. Above all, her favorite pastime was entertaining and spending precious moments with her family, which was the cornerstone of her existence.

Alice's life was a portrait of loving-kindness, painted with the brushstrokes of her selfless acts and gentle soul. Her memory will be a treasure held close to the hearts of those who knew her, a reminder of the beauty and strength of a life well-lived. Though she has departed from this world, the essence of who Alice was—her love, her care, and her unwavering spirit—will continue to live on in the memories of her adored family and friends.   Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Tuesday MORNING, November 25, 2025 from 9:00am-10:30am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
