Allen Peck Obituary

Allen C. "Butch" Peck, 58, a cherished husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at RI Hospital in Providence. Born on October 1, 1966, in Providence, Rhode Island, Butch was a loving and kind man whose interesting life and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Butch was the beloved husband of Theresa Peck, with whom he shared over two decades of devoted marriage. He was the proud son of Catherine (Hall) Peck and the late Allen W. Peck. His sister, Karen Chapman, and her husband, Michael J. of Narragansett, RI, and his nephews, Michael R. Chapman, and Harley A. Colwell, will remember him fondly for his affection and playful spirit. Butch’s presence will also be greatly missed by his stepson, who he guided and supported with a gentle and steady hand.

For the past year, Butch served as an inbound supervisory dispatcher at R & L Carriers Trucking Company, of Seekonk, MA., where he was treated as a family member by the whole company and demonstrating his dedication and work ethic. Prior to this role, he was a respected employee of New England Motor Freight (NEMF), where he worked diligently for over 24 years. His professional contributions were significant, and his colleagues valued him for his reliability and camaraderie.

A lifelong resident of Barrington, Butch was deeply rooted in his community. He was a familiar face at the Barrington Baptist Church, where he attended services and found spiritual solace. His commitment to fellowship was further evidenced by his active involvement in several organizations, including the German-American Club of Warren, the West Barrington Men's Club, and the American Legion, Post 8, Barrington. Butch's community spirit was infectious, and his absence will be felt by many.

Butch's interests were diverse and reflected his zest for life. He enjoyed travelling, reveling in the joys of exploring new places and cultures, when he was able to. Golf was another of Butch's passions, and he could often be found on the green, enjoying the game and the company of good friends. An animal lover at heart, Butch's compassion for all creatures was a testament to his gentle nature. The beach was a place of tranquility for him, where he could bask in the sun and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

Those who knew Butch would describe him as a loving, kind, and interesting individual. His smile could light up a room, and his laughter was infectious. Butch had a knack for making those around him feel valued and loved. He was a man of integrity and warmth, whose impact on the world was as positive as his outlook on life.

As we bid farewell to Allen C. "Butch" Peck, we celebrate a life lived with joy, love, and an unwavering sense of community. Butch's memory will continue to inspire us, and his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. He may have left us in body, but his spirit remains a guiding light for all who were blessed to know him. Rest in peace, Butch. Your journey was one of purpose, and your story is one of love.
