East Providence - Angela Marie (Silva) Carinha,76, lovingly known as Angela to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at RI Hospital in Providence. Born on March 8, 1948, in Providence, Rhode Island, Angela was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Angela (Esposito) Silva. She was a beacon of love and faith in the lives of all who knew her.
Angela dedicated over forty years of service as a clerk and typist in the Department of Personnel for the State of Rhode Island. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her faith as a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. After receiving her degree from the former Sawyer Secretarial School, Angela's professional and personal life were characterized by a selfless and loving nature that left an indelible mark on her community.
Her life in East Providence, where she resided for twelve years after moving from Bristol, was filled with the simple joys that she cherished deeply. Angela found pleasure in the daily rituals of watching her favorite soap operas, such as "General Hospital," and engaging in lively games of Bingo. Her laughter and enthusiasm were infectious, often filling the room with warmth and happiness.
More than anything, Angela was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her loving children, Joel Carinha of East Providence and Nancy Carinha of North Providence. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Anivia Carinha, whose accomplishments and milestones brought immense joy to Angela's life. Her brother, Joseph Silva of Dighton, MA, will remember her as a sister who always extended her love and support. Angela's legacy also lives on through the many nieces and nephews who were fortunate enough to experience her kindness and nurturing spirit.
Angela's home was one filled with the companionship of her beloved dogs, Benji and Angie, who were her constant and faithful friends. Her love for her pets was a reflection of her overall love for all living creatures and the kindness she extended to everyone she met.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Angela will remember her as a faith-filled woman whose selfless love was the cornerstone of her existence. She approached life with a loving heart, always placing the needs of others before her own, and guiding her family with grace and strength.
Angela's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories shared and the lives she touched. Her legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will endure, inspiring those who knew her to live with the same compassion and generosity that she embodied every day.
As we bid farewell to Angela Marie (Silva) Carinha, we are comforted by the knowledge that her life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the strength of family bonds. She will be dearly missed, but her light will never fade from the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
