Anthony Perry Obituary

Anthony C. Perry, 92, a retired case work supervisor, died September 8, 2024.  He was the husband of the late Patricia K. (Johnson) Perry.  Born in East Providence, RI  a son of Anthony and Amelia (Rebello) Perry and brother of Marvin D. Perry, all who predeceased him.  He lived in Bristol since 1966.

Mr. Perry had been a case work supervisor at the RI State Division of Veterans Affairs and the RI Veterans Home, before retiring in 1989.  He graduated from East Providence High School in 1949.  He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island Class of 1955.  He was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity and was in the advanced ROTC program, receiving a commission in the US Army as an infantry officer.  He served with the 24th Division in Korea Active Duty 1st Lt. (1955-1957); Active Reserves, Captain (1960-1970); Retired Reserves with the rank of Major (1970).

He was formerly active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  He was a past certified instructor and coach of the Massasoit Junior Rifle Team.  He was a Past President of the Ocean State Junior Rifle Association.  He was a life member of the Massasoit Gun Club, RI Rifle and Revolver Association and National Rifle Association.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Bristol and a lifetime member of the Holy Ghost Beneficial Brotherhood of RI.

He leaves a daughter Ann F. Anesta (Joseph), two sons, David M. Perry (Karen), Thomas R. Perry (Nancy); and four grandchildren, Thomas and James (Leah) Anesta, Michaela Perry and Jackson Perry.  

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 9-10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol with a Mass of Christian burial immediately following at 10 AM.  Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
