Antonio J. Pacheco

PROVIDENCE – Antonio J. Pacheco, 92, of Providence, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Alda (Lima) Pacheco, with whom he shared a deep and inseparable bond throughout their lives.

Born in São Miguel, Azores on February 9, 1933, Antonio immigrated to the United States at a young age and made his home in the Providence area. While living in Portugal, he worked as a bus driver, and after settling in Rhode Island, he was employed by Federal Chain.

A proud and meticulous homeowner, Antonio found great joy in tending to his yard, flowers, and fruit trees. He cherished simple pleasures—his daily Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, watching classic comedy shows like The Three Stooges, and driving his red Nissan, which he adored.

A man of deep Catholic faith, Antonio was a devoted communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Providence. He prayed the rosary and read scripture daily, grounding his life in prayer, faith, and devotion to family.

Above all, Antonio was a family man. He and his wife Alda were rarely seen apart, and he took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Alda, he is survived by his daughters: Maria, Goretti, and Ariana; his daughter-in-law Amanda; his grandchildren: Bobby, Danny, Gilbert Jr., Anthony, Jimmy, Alex, Nicholas, Cathy, and Holly; and many great-grandchildren. He was the loving father of the late Tony, Gilbert, and Carlos.

His funeral, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, beginning with visitation from 8:30 to 10:30 AM in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence. A funeral service officiated by the Reverend Joseph Escobar, pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Providence, will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside.
