Arthur A. Viveiros, Jr. of West Warwick passed away suddenly on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Arthur A. and Dolores (Salvador) Viveiros.
Arthur enjoyed a lengthy career in Sales Management in the jewelry industry, where he developed lasting friendships with customers and colleagues alike. He was passionate about all things New England sports, most notably the Boston Red Sox and Providence College basketball. In addition to rooting for his favorite teams, he could be heard cheering loudly at any sporting event or dance recital of his grandchildren and grandnieces and recounting the tales of his treasured days coaching Little League Baseball in Rehoboth, MA. When he was not with family, Arthur could be found by the craps table at Foxwoods Casino or at Misquamicut Beach, fishing or walking the shore. “Voo”, as he was most lovingly called by that dearest to him, lit up every room with his storytelling and unfiltered humor.
Arthur is survived by his sister, Marianne Varatta of Warwick; his brother, Stephen M. Viveiros of East Providence; his loving children, Meredith L. Platt of Libertyville, IL, and Nicholas A. Viveiros and wife Julie of Mansfield, MA; and four cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Chloe, William and Mason. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn M. Elderkin, and brother, Thomas L. Viveiros. He was also the proud uncle of many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many friends and colleagues.
Visiting hours will be held at Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI on Saturday, March 8th from 2PM – 5PM to celebrate and honor Arthur’s life, with a prayer service to be held at 5PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
