Seekonk - Beverly Della Grotta,80, a beacon of kindness and friendship, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI. She was born on April 8, 1944, in Providence, RI, to the late Oresto and Elvira (Capraro) Della Grotta and was the cherished daughter of her late birth parents Ralph and Assunta Bianco. Beverly was a resident of Seekonk since 1966 after moving from her birthplace and had become an integral part of the community.
Known for her unwavering faith and friendly demeanor, Beverly was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Seekonk. Her commitment to her faith and community was evident in her actions and the way she lived her life. Beverly's career as a Campus Police Officer for Wheaton College in Norton, MA, spanned over 15 years, where she was highly regarded for her dedication to the safety and well-being of the students and faculty.
In addition to her professional achievements, Beverly was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Seekonk, where she worked tirelessly to serve the needs of children and the community. Her philanthropic spirit also led her to volunteer for Meals on Wheels, delivering not only nourishment but also warmth and companionship to those she visited. She was a member of the Seekonk Human Services Council, Board of Directors.
Beverly's love for animals was profound, and she was known as a dedicated animal rescuer, providing a loving home and second chance to countless pets in need. Her passion for life extended to her unwavering support for the Boston Red Sox, cheering on her favorite team with the same enthusiasm she brought to all her endeavors.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, as well as cherished memories with her dear friend and housemate, Ruth Ann Santos, and her niece, Jennifer Saunders Stone. Beverly's ability to create a family from friends was one of her most remarkable traits, and she is survived by many who considered her family.
Beverly's journey through life was marked by her kind heart, friendly smile, and a faith-filled spirit that inspired all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of compassion and service will continue to impact the community she so dearly loved.
As we bid farewell to Beverly Della Grotta, we celebrate a well-lived life, full of love, friendship, and an unwavering dedication to making the world a better place. Her memory will be treasured forever by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 10:30am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk, MA.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston Street, Cranston.
