Obituary for Dana Marie Silva

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dana Marie Silva, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Dana passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024, at the age of 58, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Dana was born on May 29, 1965, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Antonio and Judith (Mallardo) DiGiovangiacomo. Dana resided in East Providence, Rhode Island for over 30 years. She was a warm and compassionate soul, known for her unwavering kindness and boundless love for her family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Robert M. Silva Sr.; her three cherished children and their significant others: Bobby Jr. and his fiancée, Camila Oliveira; Brandon and his wife, Samira; and Lauren Ashley. She leaves behind an adored granddaughter, Samayah, who meant the world to her.

 Dana also leaves behind her dear siblings, Marlene Vincenzo and her children, Anthony and Chris; Judi DiGiovangiacomo and her children, Bianca and Brianna; and Anthony DiGiovangiacomo. Dana had many cousins who held a special place in her heart, none more than her cousin Michele Corio, whom she viewed as a sister. Dana also leaves behind her beloved dogs, GiGi, Toni, and Sampson.

Dana dedicated her life to her family, always placing their needs above her own. Her home was a haven of warmth and love, where everyone was welcomed with open arms and a generous heart. She was an extraordinary cook, and her family gatherings were legendary, filled with laughter, delicious meals, and the comfort of her presence.

Beyond her family, Dana worked in vital statistics at Women & Infants Hospital for almost 20 years. She had a passion for cooking, gardening, and taking trips with her family.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle smile, and her ability to make everyone feel special. Dana’s love was a guiding light, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dana’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 9:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence, RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Calling hours are Tuesday May 28, 2024, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN , 38015  in Dana’s honor.
