Providence - David  Pereira,62, a loving and devoted father, brother, and son, passed away peacefully at Landmark Hospital on November 19, 2023. Born on July 2, 1961, in Providence, David lived a life characterized by kindness, intelligence, and an unwavering love for his family. He was the precious son of the late Dinis M and Alda M (Melo) Pereira and the proud father of Robert J. Pereira.

David was a respected member of the Providence community, known for his gentle nature and a keen intellect. He was a software developer by profession, having worked for the Systems Software Associates for over 12 years, dedicating his life to the world of technology. His contributions to his field were manifold, and his innovative thinking left a lasting impact on the industry.

David was blessed with a vibrant personality, an infectious sense of humor, and a deep love for his family. He was a guiding light for his son Robert, instilling in him values of respect, honesty, and the importance of hard work. He was a supportive brother to Ana Marie Pereira and Jennifer Pereira of Providence, always there with a kind word or a helping hand. He carried the memory of his late brother, Joseph Pereira, close to his heart.

Beyond his professional life, David was a man of varied interests. He found joy in the small things in life, one of which was playing video games. He was a gamer at heart, often spending his leisure time immersed in the virtual world, finding solace and excitement in equal measure. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 1, 2023, at 1:00pm in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence, RI.
