Swansea- Dolores (Pellegrino) Mosher, lovingly known as Dolores to her family and friends, passed away peacefully at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River, MA, on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on September 27, 1928, in Providence, RI, Dolores was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her.
The daughter of the late Giovanni and Nancy (Gallo) Pellegrino, Dolores grew up in a vibrant household that was rich in tradition and family values. She carried these values throughout her life, instilling them in her own family and everyone she met. As the beloved wife of the late Kenneth F. Mosher, she shared a life full of joy and companionship until his passing.
Dolores was a devoted mother to her children, Kenneth F. Mosher, Jr. and his wife Cassie of West Haven, CT; Todd Mosher and his wife Michelle of Newport; Dawn Mosher of Swansea, MA; Kim Matarese of East Greenwich; and Kelly Prew and her husband Stephen of Seekonk. She raised them with love, humor, and thoughtfulness, qualities that she embodied every day. Her siblings, Thomas Pellegrino of Cranston, Barbara Elgar of Johnston, Florence Puopolo of Johnston, and the late John Pellegrino, Clementina "Tina" Baccari, Diana Verdi, and Jeannette Giramma, will remember her as a cherished sister who brought laughter and care to their lives. Dolores was also a beloved aunt, survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was one of the highlights of her life. Dolores adored her grandchildren, Grace, Stephen, William, Emily, Daniel, Jeffrey, Justine, Thomas, Kayla, and Jillian, and her great-grandchildren, Amelia, John, Nora, Kelsey, and Emily. She nurtured their growth and celebrated their achievements with immense pride and unending support.
A homemaker by trade, Dolores took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. Her residence in Swansea for over 18 years, after moving from Warwick, RI, was a testament to her dedication to her loved ones. Her involvement in the community was evident through her active participation in parish life, both at St. Gregory the Great Church in Warwick and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Seekonk, where she was a devout parishioner.
Dolores's interests were a reflection of her love for family and faith. She was known for her exceptional cooking and baking skills, with a particular talent for making cookies. Her holiday treats were eagerly anticipated by friends and family alike, and she took great joy in sharing her recipes and culinary creations. Above all, Dolores cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren, recognizing that these moments were the most precious ingredients of a life well-lived.
Those who knew Dolores will remember her as a loving, funny, and thoughtful and selfless person. Her ability to make others smile, her generous spirit, and her unwavering kindness have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate through the generations, and her memory will be treasured forever.
Dolores's life was a tapestry of love, family, and faith. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the enduring impact she has made on all of us. Her spirit will live on in the stories shared, the traditions continued, and the love that binds us all together. Dolores (Pellegrino) Mosher will be deeply missed, but her light will never fade.
