Seekonk - Donna M. (Broze) Alves, a cherished and devoted matriarch, passed away peacefully at RI Hospital Providence on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 70. Donna was born on January 19, 1956, in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Joseph and Alzira (Almeida) Broze. Her life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and kindness that she extended to all who knew her.
As the beloved wife of William Alves, Donna shared a beautiful and enduring partnership that was the cornerstone of their family. Together, they raised two wonderful children, William Alves, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Dedham, MA, and Nicole Dauphinais and her husband Richard of North Providence, RI, who will carry on her legacy of love and compassion. Donna's joy was multiplied as she embraced her role as a grandmother to Will, James, Colin, Braylen, and Adalynn. Her gentle guidance and unwavering support were the pillars upon which her family thrived.
Donna was the cherished sister of Julia Vieira of Seekonk and Rosemarie Falls of Seekonk. She held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews, Tammy Vieira, Joseph Vieira, Jason Vieira, Jonathon Falls, Amanda Hunter, and Jeremiah Falls, as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy within the family, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.
A lifelong resident of Seekonk, Donna's roots in the community ran deep. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church, where her faith and commitment to service were evident to all. Donna's professional life was marked by her role as a cashier, serving customers at Lowes for over five years, and previously at Home Depot for over 25 years. Her work ethic and genuine care for others made her not just an employee but a friend to many who walked through the doors.
Donna was a woman of many interests, but above all, she was loving, thoughtful, and selfless. These attributes were the foundation of her life and touched everyone she met. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel valued and loved, and this is the memory that will be held dear by her family, friends, and community.
As we bid farewell to Donna, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will be cherished and remembered warmly. Her spirit, characterized by love and selflessness, will continue to inspire and guide us. Donna's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to resonate through the lives of those she touched.
Donna M. (Broze) Alves will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on as a beacon of warmth and generosity.
