Donna Mae Haugen
Donna Haugen was born on March 6 1953. After a weeklong stay at the hospital, she returned home and passed peacefully in her sleep with her husband Rod and her beloved lab Caesar at her side on May 10 2026. She was the daughter of the Late Donald and Loretta Haugen. She was preceded in death by her younger sister Laureen Aubee.
Donna was a lifelong resident of Rhode Island. She had a forty-five-year career as a telephone technician that started in the Air force reserves as a telephone pole climber installing military communications equipment. She later went to work for Northern Telecom. Donna loved her job and the people who worked with her. For years she organized an annual outing for fellow technicians and their families on the Bristol harbors Bay Queen for night dinner cruises around the Narraganset Bay.
Donna loved to travel. She loved the beaches of Rhode Island and Florida, Cancun or Aruba, anywhere there was sun water and sand. She spent many vacations at the shore in Rhode Island. Later in life with some small persuasion, she discovered a love for camping and the outdoors.
Camping in the Berkshires of Mass and the White mountains of New Hampshire were favorites. Anywhere there was Mountains a fire and a lake to take Caesar on the boat were perfect for her. Donna will always be remembered for unwavering faith, kindness, compassion for others and her infectious laugh. She will be dearly missed by Husband Rod and her brother-in-Law Steve Aubee, Niece Michelle Aubee her dear friends Pam and Tom Bruno her many cousins and family and friends. She will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Saturday May 23, 2026, from 10:00am -11:30am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. Followed by a prayer service at 11:30am in the funeral home.
