Doris Phillips Obituary

East Providence - It is with a profound sense of loss and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Doris L. (Piche) Phillips, who left us peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024, in Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born on March 20, 1952, in Rantoul, Illinois, Doris was a beacon of love and faith throughout her 72 years of life.

Doris, the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Phillips, was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Virginia (Aldrich) Piche. Her legacy of love continues through her children: Joseph Phillips and his wife Denise of Woonsocket, Stephen Phillips and his wife Heather of Smithfield, and Heather Asciolla and her husband AJ of Warwick. Doris was the proud grandmother of Derek Joseph Asciolla, Mya Victoria Phillips, and Mackenzie London Phillips, who will remember her for her warmth and ever-present support.

She shared a special bond with her sister, Edna Cooper of Pawtucket, and her brother, Arthur Piche. Doris's life was enriched by the company of many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a unique place in her heart.

For over 44 years, Doris dedicated her professional life to Rhode Island Hospital, where she served as a computer clerk in the dietary department. Her colleagues knew her as a hardworking and reliable individual, whose kindness made the workplace brighter for everyone around her.

Doris's faith was an integral part of her life. She was a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church of East Providence, where she found great solace and community. Her faith was not just a belief but a way of life that she embodied through her actions and interactions with others.

A lover of the simple pleasures in life, Doris found joy in knitting and reading. Her hands were rarely idle as she created countless pieces of warmth and comfort for her family and friends. Her love for literature allowed her to travel to worlds far and wide, all from the comfort of her favorite chair.

Known for her loving and kind nature, Doris was the epitome of a faith-filled life. She approached every situation with a heart full of love and a spirit that saw the good in all. Her gentle presence was a source of strength and inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Doris's absence will be deeply felt by all who were touched by her grace and compassion. Her memory will continue to be a guiding light for her family, friends, and all who cherished her. We take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

As we say goodbye to Doris, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by an unwavering dedication to family, faith, and community. Her story is not one of sorrow, but one of a beautiful journey that has now found its peaceful conclusion.

May Doris rest in eternal peace and may the memories of her loving spirit provide comfort to all who mourn her passing. Her life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the grace that comes from a life lived with genuine kindness and faith.
