East Providence -Dorothy B. (Jordan)Mancinho, 99, of East Providence, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Hope Hospice in Providence. She was the loving wife of the late John Mancinho, with whom she shared more than 66 years of marriage before his passing.
Born in East Providence on April 1, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Elvina (Silva) Jordan. Dorothy lived a long and full life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many simple pleasures that brought her joy. She had resided in East Providence since 1970, having previously lived in the Fox Point section of Providence.
Dorothy worked for many years at Monet Jewelry Manufacturing before retiring. She was known throughout her life as a hardworking and dependable woman who took pride in her work and in the life she built for her family. Her quiet strength, warm heart, generous spirit and love for her family were evident to all who knew her. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and held her faith close throughout her life.
She is survived by her sons, John Mancinho and his wife Susan of North Providence, and Mark Mancinho and his wife Joan of Seekonk. She was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer Tobin, Jeffrey Mancinho, Shana Bucci, and Sheri Palazzo, and the beloved great-grandmother of Evan Tobin, Jordan Tobin, Capri Palazzo, Vienna Palazzo, Jack Mancinho, Jace Mancinho, and. She was the sister of the late Evelyn Paiva and Raymond Jordan, and she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy will be remembered most for the love she gave so freely to those around her. She was a loving and generous woman whose greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. Her home and heart were always open, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to those fortunate enough to know her.
Those who knew Dorothy will remember her as a kind and caring woman who placed family first and lived her life with grace and humility. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her devotion, her gentleness, and the example she set as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street , Providence.
Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00pm-7:00pm in the Rebello Funeral Home.
