Eleanor Ann Mills, 79, of Seekonk, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence after a valiant battle with leukemia.
Born on July 7, 1945, in Providence, RI, Eleanor was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Kropis and Helen (Gecawich) Kropis. She spent the better part of her formative years in Seekonk and was a graduate of East Providence High School.
Eleanor was a dedicated employee of Hershey's Ice Cream Company, where she worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Her meticulous nature and warm personality made her an invaluable part of the team.
A woman of strong Catholic faith, Eleanor was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Seekonk and formerly of Saint Mary's Church, now Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, also in Seekonk. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she generously gave back to her community by volunteering at the Seekonk Senior Center.
Eleanor had a zest for life and a variety of interests. She loved traveling, solving jigsaw puzzles, and Sudoku, and was a passionate Johnny Tillotson fan. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her devoted daughter, Mandy. The bond between Eleanor and Mandy was extraordinary; they were inseparable, sharing countless memories together. Eleanor was always there for Mandy, cheering her on at her races and sharing a home with her.
Eleanor is survived by her beloved daughter, Mandy Mills of Seekonk; her brother, Ronald Kropis of Seekonk; her sister-in-law, Dian Thompson of Nashua, NH; her former husband and friend, Michael Mills of Merrimack, NH; her nephew Ronald Kropis, Jr.; and her niece Krystal Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Linda Kropis.
