Elsa M. (Magliochetti) Lema

REHOBOTH – Elsa Maria Lema, 96, a resident of Rehoboth, MA, for the past fifty-three years and formerly of East Providence, RI, passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Lema.

Born in Providence, RI, on April 28, 1928, she was the cherished daughter of the late Archille and Marie (Corradini) Magliocchetti.

Elsie worked for many years as a waitress at the Squantum Association in Riverside, where she was known for her kindness and dedication. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Seekonk, where her faith played a central role in her life.

An artist at heart, Elsie found joy in drawing, sketching, and painting. She had a passion for music, particularly opera, and loved listening to the Three Tenors. An avid reader and gardener, Elsie took great pride in her beautiful yard, where her green thumb brought vibrant flowers and greenery to life. Her family was her greatest treasure, and her happiest moments were spent in their company, especially with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elsie is survived by her devoted children: James J. Lema of Rehoboth; Jo-Ann Gagne of Seekonk; Patricia Rossilli of Seekonk; and Frances Marie Adams and her husband, Paul Firecloud, of Johnston, RI. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren: Michael, Tracy, Nicole, Heather, and Kim; and her great-grandchildren: Megan, Dylan, Kayla, Corey, Elizabeth, Connor, Amber, Preston, and Steven. In addition, she is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Anthony Magliocchetti, Anna Marino, Ramona Carani, and Gloria Dorsey.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her funeral on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Interment will follow at Stevens Corner Cemetery in Rehoboth, where Elsie will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Joe.
