Beyond his professional endeavors, Gene harbored a passion for building lighthouses, a hobby that allowed him to bring the beauty and serenity of the sea into the homes of those he loved. His love for reading was as vast as the ocean itself, with stories and knowledge gathered over countless pages and shared in conversations that were both enlightening and entertaining, an avid card player, Gene's sense of humor and sharp wit made him a favorite opponent and companion at the card table.
