Florence A. (Andrews) Redman

Florence, ‘‘Flo” A. (Andrews) Redman, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, at Hattie Ide Chaffee Home in East Providence. Flo was born on September 16, 1930 to the late Anthony and Mary (Traverse) Andrews.

Flo worked as a payroll supervisor for all RI employees of New England Telephone Co. for many years and later worked at AT&T.

A woman of great faith, Flo was a longtime member of the Divine Mercy Prayer group and parishioner at St. Martha Catholic Church.

Flo's family was the cornerstone of her life. She was the cherished sister of Mary Anne Toomey of Riverside, and the late Helen Magner, Theresa Andrews, and Anthony Andrews. She embraced her role as aunt with love and joy. Her 8 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews, and 9 great-great-nieces and nephews are full of gratitude for the time they were blessed to share with her. She was a second mother to many.

Flo’s interests and hobbies included cooking and travel, both domestic and international. Her excellent culinary skills brought joy to many family gatherings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Flo’s funeral on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 9:45am at St. Martha Church, 2595 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, followed by a  Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105.
