Gary Graveline Obituary

Pawtucket - Gary Paul Graveline, 73, known affectionately as Gary to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home in Pawtucket, RI, on Friday, August 30, 2024. Born on June 19, 1951, in Central Falls, RI, Gary was a man whose life was filled with love, laughter, and music.

Gary was the beloved husband of the late Deborah A. (Maguire) Graveline and the cherished son of the late Raymond and Barbara (McDermott) Graveline. His legacy is carried on through his devoted children: Kelly Lacasse and her husband Justin of Johnston, Jennifer Davin and her husband Michael of Pawtucket, and Robert Lacoursiere of Bristol, TN. He was a supportive brother to Craig Graveline of Seekonk, MA, and David Graveline of North Attleboro, MA. Gary's role as a fun-loving grandfather to Tyler Graveline, Michaela Davin, Paul Place, Sarah Davin, Devyn Lacasse, Chantelle Lacasse, and Dominic Lacasse brought him immense joy. His laughter and wisdom will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, who found in him a friend and mentor.

For over four decades, Gary dedicated his professional life to Fuller Packaging, where he worked as a skilled paper cutter. His colleagues knew him as a relatable force, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Gary was deeply familiar  with the fabric of his community and decades of change he saw.

Gary's passion for music was a defining aspect of his life. He played guitar with a zest that matched his vibrant personality, in his younger years he brought that energy to the stage with his band, The Lost Souls. His love for the Beatles' music was well-known, and many fond memories were made as he shared his favorite tunes with friends and family. Gary's home was frequently filled with the sounds of strummed chords creating some very personal music from the thoughts he enjoyed.

Family gatherings were a highlight for Gary, who relished the chaos and warmth that came with spending time with his loved ones. He was often at the center of laughter, whether through his playful teasing or the sharing of stories that only he could tell with such humor and heart. His grandchildren, in particular, cherished these moments, as Gary had a unique ability to make each of them feel special and loved.

Gary's creative spirit shone brightly, not only in his music but in the way he approached life. He had the rare gift of seeing the world with wonder and possibility, inspiring those around him to do the same. His loving nature was the foundation upon which he built his life, and it is this legacy of kindness, humor, and creativity that will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we say goodbye to a man who was a beacon of joy in the lives of many, we celebrate Gary's enduring spirit. He has left behind a tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire laughter, music, and love in the hearts of his family and friends. Gary Paul Graveline will be profoundly missed, yet his melody will resonate forever in the lives he touched.

In honor of Gary's life well-lived, his family will gather for a public remembrance, cherishing the many ways he enriched their lives. Gary's story is one of a life embraced with enthusiasm and lived with an open heart—a melody that will play on eternally.
