Seekonk, MA - Genevieve (Carreiro) Motta, affectionately known as Genevieve to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Regal Care in Taunton, Massachusetts. Born on February 6, 1934, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Genevieve was a beacon of kindness, wisdom, and spirited thoughtfulness throughout her remarkable 91 years.
Wife of the late Ronald Motta, Genevieve's unwavering love and dedication to her family were the cornerstones of her life. She was a cherished daughter to her late parents, Paul and Angelina (Perry) Carreiro, and a beloved sister to her late siblings Tony, Joe, Lionel, Paul, and Mary Carreiro. Her legacy continues through her devoted son, Ronald Motta of Seekonk, who will forever hold dear the values and love she instilled in him.
Genevieve's life was characterized by her strong sense of community and faith. A longtime resident of Seekonk since 1969, having moved from Bristol, she was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived her life and interacted with those around her.
Professionally, Genevieve was the esteemed owner and operator of Suzmans Clothing Store in Bristol, where she dedicated over 20 years of service. Her natural ability to connect with people, combined with her business acumen, made the clothing store more than just a place of commerce; it became a welcoming space where customers became friends.
Genevieve's life was a testament to the power of kindness. She approached every person and situation with a thoughtful heart and a wise mind, leaving a lasting impact on those she encountered. Her presence was a comfort, her advice a treasure, and her gentle spirit a guiding light.
As we bid farewell to Genevieve, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with her. Her memory will be treasured and her influence will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Genevieve's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her family, her faith, and her community – a journey well lived and a story well told.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Genevieve (Carreiro) Motta will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and wisdom will endure forever.
