Geraldina Medeiros

Geraldina Medeiros, age 81, of East Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2024, surrounded by her family.  She was born on May 20, 1943, in Sao Miguel, Azores to Georgina DeMello and Manuel Duarte. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jacinto Medeiros. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jennifer Medeiros, Nelia Cummings, Susana Sollaccio, Maria Almeida, Ana Bartlett, Jose Orlando Medeiros, Manuela Parker, Maggie Azevedo, and John Medeiros. She was a wonderful grandmother to her thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Geraldina was an amazing cook who shared her love of food with her family and friends. She was a devout catholic and a selfless woman who always put everyone’s needs before her own. We bid farewell to Geraldina, a true beacon of light, who departed from this world too soon, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. She walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with unforgettable grace.

The visitation will be held at Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.  Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 8:30am from the Rebello Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence, RI.  Burial to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

We know that we can’t have you, but we are happy knowing that the angels carried you to Jesus.  Goodbye to a beautiful woman and wonderful mother.
