Harry J. Holloway, a cherished family man, esteemed educator, and proud United States Army Veteran, passed away peacefully at his home in Worcester, NY, on Friday , January 24, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on May 20, 1945, in Edgefield, SC, he was a beacon of intelligence, wisdom, and thoughtfulness throughout his life.
Harry was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Furtado) Holloway, a loving relationship that was a testament to devotion and mutual respect. He was the son of the late Fred and Harriet (Singleton) Holloway, who instilled in him the values of education and service that he carried throughout his life. As a father, he provided guidance and love to his children, Danny Carreira and Christina Abreu, and cherished the moments spent with his two grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Harry's sister, Eloise Holloway, will remember him as a pillar of strength and a constant source of support within the family. His presence was a gift to his family, and his legacy will live on through the lives of those he touched.
An alumnus with a Master's degree in education, Harry dedicated his career to shaping young minds as a Principal in the Hartford Connecticut School Department. His passion for education was evident in his commitment to his students and the community he served. Harry's leadership and guidance left an indelible mark on countless lives, and his contributions to education will be long remembered.
As a United States Army Veteran, Harry served his country with honor and pride. His service was a reflection of his deep sense of duty and love for his country. His funeral will be held on Saturday February 15,2025 at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME,901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
