Jeffrey Buckett Obituary

Riverside - Jeffrey Stephen Buckett, known to family and friends as Jeffrey, passed away on Saturday ,April 4, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was 74 years old. Born on July 10, 1951, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was a lifelong East Providence resident whose presence, warmth, and steady devotion to his loved ones will be deeply missed.

Jeffrey was the beloved husband of Maureen (Pacheco) Buckett and the devoted son of the late Alfred and Jean (Hinman) Buckett. He was a loving father to Jennifer Fiske and her husband Daniel of Riverside, and a proud grandfather to Amaya Fiske. He was also the brother of the late Richard Buckett and survived by several nieces and nephews. Family was at the center of Jeffrey’s life, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.

Jeffrey was a man of many admirable qualities, and those who knew him best will remember him as loving, funny, thoughtful, and intelligent. He had a warm sense of humor, a thoughtful nature, and a quiet strength that made those around him feel comfortable and cared for. He took great pride in his family and in the life he built, and he was especially proud of his daughter and granddaughter. Spending time with them was the greatest joy in his life.

Jeffrey received an Associate’s Degree from Rhode Island Junior College, now the Community College of Rhode Island. He valued education and carried that sense of commitment throughout his life. His work ethic was evident in his long career as a Crew Chief for Shaw’s Supermarkets, where he served for more than 20 years. He was respected by his coworkers for his dedication, reliability, and professionalism.

Jeffrey’s early years were marked by his love of sports and teamwork. He served as captain of the East Providence High School football team during the 1968 to 1969 season, where he played center. That experience reflected the leadership and determination that would remain part of his character throughout his life. He carried himself with quiet confidence and a strong sense of loyalty, traits that were evident both on and off the field.

In his free time, Jeffrey enjoyed being an avid boxing fan, reading, and having coffee. These simple pleasures brought him comfort and enjoyment, and he appreciated the routine and familiarity of them. He found happiness in the everyday moments of life, especially when they were shared with the people who mattered most to him. His love for his family, his humor, and his steady presence made him a source of strength and affection to those around him.

Jeffrey Stephen Buckett will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him. His life was one of devotion to family, hard work, and quiet enjoyment of life’s meaningful moments. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, pride, and enduring love that will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
