East Providence - John Charles Chakouian,61, affectionately known as John to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI. Born on March 1, 1964, in Providence, he was a lifelong resident of East Providence and a cherished member of the community.
John was the beloved son of the late John Chakouian and Deborah Stuttard, and the stepson of the late Robert Farrar. He was a devoted father, survived by his children: Jared Chakouian of Lincoln, Paige Chakouian of East Providence, and Alexandria Blaydes of Riverside. He carried on his legacy through his grandchildren, Ella Chakouian and Milania Blaydes, who will miss their grandfather's warmth and guidance. John was also a loving brother to Rob Farrar and his wife Lynn of Riverside, Jesse Chakouian and his wife Monica DeSouza of East Providence, Jamie Tavares of East Providence, Sonja Chakouian of East Providence, and the late Tammy Chakouian. He was predeceased by his son, Johnathan Miller, whose memory remained dear to him.
A proud graduate of East Providence High School, Class of 1982, John was part of the State Champion football team for the 1981-1982 season, he also played baseball there. He further showcased his love for music and camaraderie as a member of the all men's chorus. His pursuit of knowledge continued as he attended college for over two years, broadening his horizons and preparing for a life full of diverse experiences.
John's professional life was marked by his tenure as a truck driver, a career that allowed him to explore the open roads and serve his community. He was a dedicated member of the teamsters, and he worked for Cardi and Alperts companies for many years. His strong work ethic and friendly demeanor made him a respected colleague and friend to many.
An East Providence resident for his entire life, John was a former parishioner of St. Brendan Church. His interests were as varied as they were passionate. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing, hunting, and camping, embracing the beauty of nature at every opportunity. His love for sports was evident in his unwavering support for the Miami Dolphins and the Boston Red Sox. John's zest for life could be felt in his fondness for music and singing, a testament to his adventurous spirit.
John was a simple man at heart, finding pleasure in the company of friends and family, and the quiet moments spent in the great outdoors. His friendly nature made him a beloved figure in his community, and his adventurous soul inspired those around him to seek joy in life's journey. Passionate about everything he set his mind to, John's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the courage to follow one's passions.
