East Providence - John N. Cubellis,62, known affectionately as John to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home in East Providence, RI, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Born on November 17, 1961, in Warwick, RI, John's life was one marked by hard work, devotion to his loved ones, and a passion for the simple pleasures in life.
The son of the late John D. and Alice (Remington) Cubellis, John grew up in a family that valued strong bonds and the joy of togetherness. He carried these values throughout his life, which was evident in the love and care he showed to his family. John was the cherished former husband of Lori (Bachini) Cubellis and the proud father of Vanessa Cubellis and her husband Eric Osial of Rumford, RI. He bore the loss of his son Shannon Cubellis with a resilient spirit that inspired those around him. John was the supportive brother of Robert Cubellis of Ozark, Missouri, and remembered fondly his late sister Joan Cubellis. His role as an uncle to Bobby Cubellis, Benjamin Cubellis, and Brianna Swisher was one he embraced with enthusiasm and joy. John's legacy continues through his beloved granddaughter, Penelope Osial, with whom he shared a special bond.
Professionally, John dedicated over two decades of his life to the electrical union as a skilled electrician before venturing out to work independently. His reputation for meticulous work and reliability made him a respected figure within the trade. John's colleagues knew him as a man who could always be counted on, not just for his expertise, but also for his camaraderie and unwavering support.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was a man of many interests. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding solace in the tranquility of nature. His hands were rarely still, as he took great pleasure in restoring old cars, a testament to his remarkable ability as a general handyman. John's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both trials and triumphs with a sense of purpose and grace.
Above all, John was a loving and faithful man. His friends and family will remember him for his handy skills, but even more so for his generous heart. He had a gift for making others feel cared for, and he extended his love beyond words, through acts of service and the time he cherished with his granddaughter.
John's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the memories of those who knew him. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, faith, and love—principles that he not only believed in but also embodied every day.
As we say goodbye to John N. Cubellis, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. John's journey on earth has concluded, but the stories of his kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be recounted for generations to come.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
