John Silva Obituary

Rehoboth - John Carvalho Silva,84, known affectionately as John, passed away peacefully at his home in Rehoboth, MA, on October 31, 2025. Born on November 26, 1940, in São Miguel, Azores, John was a man whose life was defined by his unwavering faith, his commitment to his family, and his hardworking spirit. John leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, having just celebrated his 54th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Noelia M. (Bettencourt) Silva, on October 3rd, 2025.

The son of the late Manuel DaSilva Brum and Juventina (Carvalho) Brum, John was a cherished father, grandfather, and sibling. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Lucille Rolon, and her husband, Daniel, of Rehoboth; his grandchildren, Jacob Tyler Rolon and Kaylie Jade Rolon, who were the light of his life; and the memory of his late brother, Luis C. Silva, who predeceased him.

John was a proud member of the workforce, having served as a forklift operator for the American Insulated Wire Company for over 35 years. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his community. Since moving to Rehoboth in 2000 from East Providence, John became an integral part of the fabric that held his community together.

A devout parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church, John's faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He attended mass faithfully, participated in prayer meetings, served as an usher, and led processions with a humble heart. His spirited involvement in the church was a testament to his faith-filled life.

John's interests extended beyond the church doors. He was a man who found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature. His love for farming and his cows was well-known, and his skill in the garden was evident in the bountiful harvests he shared with family and friends. John's presence was a comforting one, and he was well-liked by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Above all, John treasured the moments spent with his family and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, a doting father, and an adoring grandfather. His spirited laughter and warm embrace will be dearly missed, but the memories he created will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those he loved.

John Carvalho Silva was a man of integrity, a pillar in his community, and a beacon of light in the lives of his family. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived. A life marked by love, service, and an unwavering commitment to his faith and family. John's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
