Jose spent his early years in Portugal, where he attended college and built the foundation of the hardworking and disciplined life he would later lead. He came to the United States in 1972 arriving in Bridgeport, Ct., at the age of 25. He also continued his education by taking night courses at UCONN in Bridgeport, CT, showing his commitment to learning and self-improvement. He also had a good sense of humor.

Jose was a loving, kind, and friendly man who valued simple joys and meaningful connections. He was an avid soccer fan and especially loved Sporting F.C., following the game with enthusiasm and pride. He also enjoyed spending time at Arbor Hill, where he was active in bingo and painting with the other residents. These shared moments brought him happiness and reflected his warm nature and easygoing personality.

He also found pleasure in going to the beach, tending to his garden, and playing Sueca, the card game he enjoyed so much. These interests were part of the rhythm of his life and brought him comfort and enjoyment over the years. Jose appreciated companionship, conversation, and the small pleasures that made each day special.
