Joseph Lopez

 Rumford - Joseph "Joe" Lopez, aged 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Steere House in Providence, RI, with his daughters at his side.  Born on September 16, 1929, in New Bedford, MA.

Joe was the husband of the late Lorraine C. (Lima) Lopez of 65 years.  He was the son of the late Joseph E. and Lena (Cardoza) Lopez. A supportive and proud father, he leaves behind his daughters Joanna Gonzalez-Mulvey and her husband Daniel Mulvey of East Providence, and Debbie Lopez of Rumford. He was predeceased by his son, the late David Joseph Lopez. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Santana and Alicia Gonzalez and the late Wakeem Gonzalez, who will miss their grandfather's joyful spirit and guidance. 

Joe was a hardworking factory worker at the Davol Rubber Company, where he was respected for his kindness.  He was a parishioner at St. Margaret Church, where his faith was an integral part of his life.  

Joe's talents were not limited to his work.  He was also a skilled guitarist. Capable of playing various types of guitars, and later on the organ.   He enjoyed camping, fishing, antique cars, but most importantly, his family. Joe was a man who treasured the simple pleasures of life.

Those who knew Joe will remember him as a loving, kind, and jack of all trades.  He was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a warm smile. His presence was a comfort to his family and friends. 

As a grandfather, Joe was nothing short of proud. He instilled values, shared stories, and created memories that his grandchildren will carry with them forever. He was a pillar of strength and love in their lives, and his influence will continue to shape them in the years to come.

He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, but his spirit will live on in the memories and stories that will be shared for generations. His legacy of love and kindness will never be forgotten.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Margaret Church, 1098, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford.
