Joseph Ferreira, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories. He was a man of great dedication, known for his unwavering commitment to his family, his friends, and his work. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Ferreira, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges. He was a proud and devoted father to Jo-Ann & Dean Johnson and their son, Hunter; Stephen & Kristen Ferreira and their daughter, Madison and son, Mason along with Madison’s fiancé, Tyler; and Michael & Jennifer Ferreira and their sons, Nathan & Jacob. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Born on March 27th, 1946 in East Providence, RI, he was a loving son of the late Joseph S. Ferreira, Sr. and Cecelina (Kopke) Ferreira. A hardworking and respected businessman, Joseph was the proud owner of Stateline Fuel & Burner Service Inc. in Seekonk, MA, for over 30 years with his two Stephen and Michael, dedicating an incredible 60 years of service to the industry. His knowledge, integrity, and work ethic made a lasting impact on his customers and colleagues alike. Beyond his career, Joseph found joy in restoring old cars, bringing them back to life with his skilled hands and passion for craftsmanship. He had a well-known sweet tooth and never passed up an opportunity to indulge in a favorite treat. One of his greatest joys was spending time at the local donut shop, sharing laughter and stories with his close-knit group of friends. Joseph's warmth, kindness, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who valued his companionship, and a community that was made better by his presence. A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, on Sunday, March 16th 2025, with visitation from 4 to 7 PM. A service honoring his memory will follow on Monday, March 17th, 2025 at 9 AM in the funeral home, with burial at Seekonk Newman Avenue Cemetery. Joseph’s legacy of love, dedication, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
