Barrington - Kevin was born December 4th, 1956 in Providence, Rhode Island to John and Mary (Delahunt) Naughton. He was the youngest of three boys, growing up alongside his brothers John (Nancy) of Providence, RI and Michael (Donna) of Montclair, NJ. He graduated from Providence College in 1979 and immediately began his career at Naughton Insurance where he met Joanne (Heron) in 1981. Kevin and Joanne have been lovingly married since 1984. He was a devoted father to his two children, Matthew (Laura) of Barrington, RI and Kaitlyn of Seekonk, MA. He was a proud grandfather to his beloved granddaughter, Charlotte, who brought him immense joy and laughter. His favorite title of all was being called “Poppy”.
Kevin was a resident of Barrington, RI and Harwich Port, MA. He loved both communities and proudly called them home. His hobbies included reading, golfing, and spending time at the beach. He enjoyed daily walks with his many dogs over the years, always taking the time to stop and chat with neighbors along the way.
Professionally, Kevin was the third generation to lead Naughton Insurance, Inc., where he dedicated more than 47 years of his life. He had a deep passion for the business and took great pride in continuing the family legacy, earning the respect and trust of colleagues, clients, and the community he served.
Kevin was actively involved in many organizations, each of which he supported with genuine pride, care and commitment. His involvement reflected his strong sense of loyalty, service, and connection to others. Kevin served on numerous boards, associations and committees during his lifetime. Kevin served as President of the New England Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, as well as on various committees with the organization. NEAAPA is a group which Kevin was especially fond of and who inducted Kevin into their Hall of Fame in 2025. He was a member of Wannamoisett Country Club, where he served on the board as Golf Chairman and on the Nominating Committee. Kevin was a past board member of The 100 Club of Rhode Island. He was also a past member of the University Club. Kevin was a member of the Saquatucket Bluffs Association, and the South Harwich Shore Association where he had also served as President.
Kevin will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his work. He had a big personality and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, as well as in the work he devoted his life to. He is survived by his immediate family, his brothers and their spouses, sisters-in-law and their spouses as well as his many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday February 3,2026 at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME,901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Luke Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington, RI
Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are on Monday from 4:00pm-7:00pm in the funeral home.
