Leo R. Mongeau

Leo R. Mongeau, 88 years old, from Pawtucket, RI passed way peacefully on June 7, 2026 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Pauline M (Boisclair) Mongeau, his three children, Richard L. Mongeau of Seekonk, MA, Denise L. (Mongeau) Drury of Rehoboth, MA and Lori-Ann (Mongeau) Dailey of Exeter, RI.

He leaves behind three grandchildren, Jessica L. (Dailey) Miller of Exeter, RI, Nicholas L. Drury, of Quincy, MA and Matthew D. Dailey of Exeter, RI, along with two great grandchildren, Mackenzie R. Miller and Mason D. Miller both of Exeter, RI.

He was the son of the late Arthur and Loretta (Bessette) Mongeau.  He was the brother of the late Jeanne (Mongeau) Martin and Gerald Mongeau.

Leo was a life long resident of Pawtucket and graduated from St. Raphael Academy.  After working for a number of years in the manufacturing business, Leo left that company to start his own company J & M Diamond Tool, currently located in East Providence, RI.  His joy was his claim that he still came to work every day even at 88 years old.

Leo served on the Board of Directors of the then Pawtucket Credit Union retiring a number of years ago.  He was also a consultant at the then Parish of St. Cecilia’s Church in Pawtucket, RI volunteering his time to help with the financials.

He loved traveling, going to work, watching local sport teams and spending time with his beloved wife and family.

He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was always willing to help someone in need without expecting or wanting recognition for his helpful and meaningful deeds.  He liked to quietly do what he could, and he did a lot.

Leo will be remembered for his intelligence, generosity, and humor, but most of all for his commitment and devotion to his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm with the service at 12:00PM in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME , 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI., burial is private.
