Luis Jose Azevedo Pinheiro

 East Providence - Luis J. Azevedo Pinheiro,43,  affectionately known as Luis, passed away peacefully at his home in East Providence, Rhode Island on July 12, 2023. Born on September 7, 1979, in Providence, Rhode Island, Luis lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to his family and his craft.

Luis was the cherished son of Olganda R. (Araujo) Pinheiro of East Providence and the late Joao F. Pinheiro. He was a devoted father to Alexus Rose Kennedy, Brooklynn Pinheiro, and Blake Pinheiro, all living in East Providence. His love for his children was boundless and they truly were the world to him. Luis was also a loving brother to Joao Pinheiro, Marilia Almeida, Leonilde Pinheiro, Adna Dos Reis, Nelia Dias, Palmira Pinheiro, and Olganda Palmer, all of whom reside in East Providence. He also held a special place in his heart for his late brother, Juviano Pinheiro. Luis leaves behind a large extended family, including many beloved nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

A proud graduate of East Providence High School, Luis dedicated his professional life to the art of barbering. He was not only a skilled barber but also a respected barber teacher at RobRoy Academy for several years. His students admired him for his expertise, patience, and the care he put into teaching his craft. As a lifelong resident of East Providence, Luis made a significant impact on his community, imparting knowledge, and skills to aspiring barbers and maintaining a warm, welcoming presence in his town.

Beyond his work, Luis had a passion for basketball. He could often be found on local courts, where his competitive spirit and sportsmanship shone. However, his favorite pastime was simply spending time with his children. Whether they were playing games, enjoying a meal, or just sitting and talking, Luis cherished every moment he spent with them.

Luis was a man best described by his loving and kind nature. His warm smile and generous spirit were a comfort to all who knew him. His dedication to his family, his students, and his community was unwavering and will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Luis J. Azevedo Pinheiro was a pillar of his community, a dedicated father, a beloved son and brother, and a respected teacher. His life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

May his memory live on in the hearts of those he touched and may his legacy of love and kindness continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps. Rest in peace, Luis. Your light will continue to shine in the lives of those you have touched.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday July 20,2023 at 10:00am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Wednesday July 19,2023 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the funeral home.
