Lynne Marie (Phoenix) Gavrillen,64, known affectionately to friends and family as Lynne, passed away peacefully at her home in Riverside, Rhode Island, on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was born on May 21, 1960, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Claire (Nadeau) Phoenix of Lincoln and the late Robert Phoenix. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and caring sister, Lynne's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Lynne shared over 39 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Michael Gavrillen. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. She was a nurturing mother to her sons, Justin Gavrillen of East Providence and Jeremy Gavrillen of Cranston, and a guiding stepmother to Michael Gavrillen of Wilmington, NC, and Jessica Angell of Coventry. Lynne was also a supportive sister to Kevin Phoenix of Pawtucket, Robert Phoenix of Lincoln, and Laurie Goodwin of Pawtucket.
Lynne's legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Hadley and Ansley Gavrillen, Michael Acciardo, Alex Henderson, and Bryan Darden, all of whom she loved with all her heart. A dedicated family woman, she was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Lynne's commitment to caring for others extended beyond her family. She was a proud graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her passion for helping people led her to a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse at Rhode Island Hospital, where she worked in the CCU for over 20 years. Lynne's selfless nature and dedication to her profession made her a beloved figure among colleagues and patients alike.
Beyond her professional achievements, Lynne was a longstanding resident of Riverside for over 30 years, having moved from Smithfield. She was a parishioner of St. Brendan Church. Lynne also enjoyed camping, an activity through which she found great joy and relaxation.
Lynne was the heart of her neighborhood; she and her husband Michael were affectionately known as "Mrs. G" and "Mr. G" by all the local children. Their home was a haven where everyone was welcome, and Lynne's loving and thoughtful nature made her a surrogate mother to many. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and she was always there to lend an ear, offer advice, or give a comforting hug to anyone in need.
Those who knew Lynne would describe her as the embodiment of loving, thoughtful, and selfless. Her presence radiated warmth and compassion, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Lynne's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the enduring strength of familial bonds.
As we say goodbye to Lynne, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless lives she enriched. Her spirit will live on in the cherished memories she leaves behind and in the love that will continue to flourish in the hearts of her family and friends.
Lynne Marie (Phoenix) Gavrillen's passing is a profound loss, yet her legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her light will forever shine in the lives of her loved ones.
