Maria Dutra Obituary

Pawtucket- Maria L. Dutra, a beacon of love and faith, passed away on Saturday ,August 23, 2025, at Landmark Hospital in Woonsocket. Born on October 27, 1954, in the beautiful island of Faial, Azores, Maria was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who brought kindness and warmth to every life she touched.

Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Jose Garcia Dutra and Armanda (Oliveira) Dutra. Her journey from Portugal to Pawtucket over 30 years ago marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life, one filled with dedication and service. She was a respected member of her community, known for her devout faith as a parishioner of the former St. Leo the Great Church.

In her professional life, Maria was a dedicated machine operator at Hasbro Manufacturing, where she worked for over two decades. Her commitment to her role and the friendships she forged there stood as a testament to her strong work ethic and caring nature. Maria's loving spirit extended to her family, as she was a devoted sister to Joseph Dutra of Cumberland, Amanda Dutra of East Providence, Heila Massa of Portugal, and she held dear the memory of her late sister Louisa  Dutra.

Maria's role as an aunt was one she embraced with joy and pride. Joana Cabral, Vanda Cabral, John Cabral, Jeremy Dutra, and Zion Dutra were blessed to have an aunt like Maria, who showered them with affection and support. Her guidance and love will be a treasure they carry with them always.

Those who knew Maria will remember her as a kind soul, whose loving and faith-filled nature brightened the days of all around her. She was a source of comfort and strength for her family and friends, embodying the virtues of compassion and generosity in every aspect of her life.

Maria L. Dutra's legacy is one of unwavering love and faith. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Maria's life was a beautiful tapestry of the relationships she nurtured, the faith she upheld, and the kindness she shared with the world. She will be deeply missed, but her light will never fade.

A private burial will be held.  Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
