Maria V. (Baganha) da Silva

East Providence - Maria V. da Silva, 89, of East Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 19, 1934, in São Miguel, Azores, Maria was the cherished daughter of the late Antonio and Belmira (Teixeira) Baganha.

Maria was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Delia DaCosta of Riverside, and her son, John DaSilva of California. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Maria was preceded in death by her beloved children, Paula DaSilva, Carla DaSilva, Joe DaSilva, Fernando DaSilva, and Carlos DaSilva, as well as her siblings, Lodia, Joe, Carlos, and Antonio Baganha.

Maria's life was filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Her strength and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

A private funeral service was held, and Maria was laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Riverside. Visitation was respectfully omitted.

Arrangements were entrusted to the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME of East Providence, RI.

Maria will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her gentle spirit that brought comfort to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
