Marie (Sabetta) Hunt

RIVERSIDE – Marie Hunt, 86, of Riverside, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Evergreen House Health Center in East Providence, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Benson A. Hunt.

Born on May 15, 1938, in Providence, RI, she was the loving daughter of the late Michael and Filomena "Phyllis" (Rotondo) Sabetta.

Marie was raised in Cranston and later settled in East Providence after marrying her husband. A talented hairdresser, she took pride in running her own business. She was a member of the Red Hat Society of Florida and enjoyed knitting and playing bingo. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, Hansel and Gretel, and her cat, Brady. A homebody at heart, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Marie is survived by her children: David Hunt and his wife, Gina, of Riverside; Karen Schmidt and her husband, John, of Washington State; Kevin Hunt and his wife, Chivivan, of Cranston; and Lori Hunt of East Providence. She also leaves behind her sister, Carolyn Siperstein, and her husband, Harry, of East Greenwich, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are warmly invited, will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, beginning with a time of visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a funeral service, officiated by the Reverend Joseph Escobar at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, 72 Church Street, Cranston.
