Matt's love for swimming continued beyond his competitive days, often sharing his experiences and encouraging young swimmers to pursue their passions. His love for animals, especially dogs, was profound. He shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved dogs Rambo and the late Diesel. They were not just pets to Matt; they were family.
His interests extended beyond his immediate surroundings; Matt had a deep passion for addressing social issues and advocating for those less fortunate. He approached life with a heart full of empathy and always sought ways to contribute positively to his community.
