Michele Martin McRoberts, age 82, of Warren, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025. Michele was surrounded by her devoted family and friends. Born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Evelyn (Sanders) Martin.
Michele earned her Master’s degree from University of Wisconsin. From there, she went on to teach art at all levels for over 30 years. She was much respected by both colleagues and students.
Michele’s greatest joy was her family. Michele is survived by her husband and best friend Robert. Their marriage of 60 years was rooted in unwavering love and mutual respect. It was a testimonial of pure love and devotion. She was the cherished mother to her children Molly McRoberts, Michael McRoberts (Christina) and Joseph McRoberts. She leaves behind the absolute pride and joys of her life, her granddaughters Ava and Katherine Trout.
She is remembered by her siblings Sally, Judy, Thomas, Richard, Lynn and Merrie. She was predeceased by her brothers Daniel and Johnny. She leaves behind many sister and brother in-laws, nieces and nephews. She especially enjoyed the company of friends Dede, Nancy, Lori, the Smiths and the loving community of Touisett that she was a part of for over 50 years.
Second to her family was Michele’s love of art. She was known as a prolific artist. Her talent was unmatched. She moved between various media with ease and devoted much of her life to sharing her gift with students. Beyond the classroom, Michele found great pleasure in sharing her pieces with everyone she came into contact with. Countless homes, gardens, classrooms and offices are adorned by her art. Her artistic legacy will be remembered by all she touched.
Gardening will be remembered as one of her favorite pastimes, passed down by her mother. Michele loved watching the birds with Bob that were attracted to her beautiful gardens. In her last days she told her daughter that she would be a hummingbird in her garden. Anytime you see a humming bird smile, remember Michele.
A memorial service will be decided at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
