Natalie Williamson Obituary

Natalie Irene Williamson (Leehy)

March 24, 1948 — April 13, 2026

Natalie Irene Williamson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on April 13, 2026, at the age of 78. Natalie was a woman of extraordinary warmth, wit, and zest for life who touched the lives of everyone she met.

Natalie was born and raised in Black River, New York, to Vernon and Elizabeth Leehy. She graduated from LeMoyne College, where she met the love of her life, Michael Williamson. The two married on August 1, 1970, and built a beautiful life together in Buffalo, New York. Natalie and Michael later moved to South Hadley, Massachusetts and then Providence, Rhode Island.

Natalie dedicated her career to helping others. She worked as a teacher and later obtained her master’s degree from the University of Buffalo and worked as a guidance counselor at East Aurora High School. But she was most proud of her years as a Social Worker for the city of Buffalo, where she made a lasting difference in the lives of the children she protected.

Beyond her professional calling, Natalie was an avid reader and a talented cook. She enjoyed traveling and some of her favorite destinations were the Thousand Islands in New York, Bermuda, Jamaica, Acapulco, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, San Francisco, and the many beaches she visited. She never allowed life’s many challenges slow her down. She loved most of all spending time with others and being around people. Her family and friends were her priority. She lived every day with joy, generosity, and an open heart and mind.

Natalie is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Williamson; her son, Michael C. Williamson, and his wife, Samantha Birch; her daughter, Amy Welnicki, and her husband, Matthew Welnicki; and her three beloved grandsons, Nathan, Connor, and Nolan. She is also survived by her brothers, Peter Leehy and Lawrence Leehy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Elizabeth Leehy, and her brothers, Michael Leehy and Stephen Leehy.

Natalie will be deeply missed and forever loved.
