Norman "Buba" Morse Sr., 86, of East Providence, Rhode Island, passed away on January 13, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was born on April 29, 1938, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Luther Gregory and Velma Hassel Gregory. Buba was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judith Morse, and their three children, Norman Morse Jr. and his partner Corrie Green, Paul Morse and his partner Rebecca Belasco and Nina Morse. He also leaves behind a sister, Janice Thomas; sister-in-law, Deborah Handy; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Lillian Clement and his brother-in-law, Austin Handy.
Buba was known for his charm, love for his family, and his amazing, strong, light-up-the-room smile. His love of basketball and the Boston Celtics led him to coach for multiple youth leagues.
He loved music, health, and fitness, and was known for his beautiful singing voice. He dedicated his life to Brown University for 38 years and was a respected member of the Kent Heights Silver
Spring community for over 50 years. He enjoyed working out, spending much of his time in the gym as well as training others. His family and friends will always remember his smile and laugh.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, January 19,2025, at Rebello Funeral Home ,901 Broadway, East Providence, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
