Woonsocket - Paula J. (Melo) Figuried, affectionately known as Paula, passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on February 24, 1962, in Providence, RI, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph P. and Anna (Ferreira) Melo.

Paula's life was characterized by her unwavering devotion to her family and her kind, loving, and thoughtful nature. She shared over 30 beautiful years with her life partner, Michael Moison, creating a life filled with love and cherished memories. A loving mother to Holly Harald of Coventry, she also embraced the role of stepmother to Shane Moison and his wife Lauren of Pennsylvania, and Keysha Welch and her husband Michael of New Hampshire. Paula's joy multiplied as she became a step-grandmother to Breanna Welch and Lucas Moison, whose lives she touched with her warmth and affection.

Paula's professional life was marked by her dedicated service as a letter carrier and clerk for the United States Postal Service for over 13 years. Her colleagues remember her for her reliability and the friendly smile that she brought to her work every day. A resident of Woonsocket since 1995, Paula had previously lived in East Providence and Riverside. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a parishioner of St. Agatha Church in Woonsocket, having formerly attended St. Francis Xavier Church in East Providence.

Her interests and hobbies were a reflection of her love for life and her desire to bring joy to others. Paula was known for her skill in card games, particularly Pitch and Frustration, which she enjoyed playing with her family and friends. An excellent cook and baker, Paula delighted in entertaining and was renowned for her holiday parties and general get-togethers, ensuring that every guest felt welcomed and valued. A true New England Patriots fan, Paula's enthusiasm for her team was infectious, and she enjoyed sharing game days with those she loved.

Paula's love for animals was just another facet of her compassionate spirit. Her pets were not just animals but members of her family, receiving the same love and care she extended to all those around her.

Paula will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, love, and thoughtfulness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.

Paula's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will forever be a guiding light for her loved ones. Her family takes comfort in the memories they have created together and will continue to honor her life by embodying the values she held dear.

As we bid farewell to Paula J. (Melo) Figuried, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman deeply loved. May she rest in peace, knowing that her love continues to bind and inspire her family and friends.

A gathering of Relatives and friends will be held on Monday December 2, 2024, at 11:00am, in the parking lot of the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, to process over to the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, leaving the funeral home at 11:15am for committal prayers at 11:30am in the Chapel of the cemetery.  Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
