North Providence -Robert "Bobby" Moreira,51, a cherished family man, respected professional, and beloved community member, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI. Born on December 8, 1973, in Providence, Rhode Island, Bobby was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him.
The proud son of Regina (Carvalho) Moreira of North Providence, and the late Dinart Moreira, Bobby inherited a legacy of strength and compassion that he carried throughout his life. He shared a profound and enduring love with his spouse, Aubrey Olney, a bond that was a testament to their shared values and dreams. As a devoted father, he instilled in his daughter, Alyssa Turner, and her husband, Thomas C. Turner, III of East Providence, the importance of family, hard work, and laughter. Bobby's joy multiplied with the birth of his grandson, Thomas C. Turner IV, whom he adored beyond measure.
Bobby's brother, David Moreira of Riverside, shared a deep connection with him, rooted in their shared childhood and enduring friendship. A beloved relative, he will also be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins who were an integral part of his life.
For two decades, Bobby was a self-employed painting contractor, a career that showcased his meticulous craftsmanship and strong work ethic. His reputation for quality work and reliability made him a respected figure in the local community. He was a longtime resident of North Providence, having moved there 30 years ago from East Providence, and was a former parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church, where he was known for his faith-filled spirit.
Bobby's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He was an excellent cook, finding joy in creating meals that brought his family and friends together. His love for cars and sports was well known, with his favorite teams—the San Francisco 49ers, Flyers, Bruins, and Celtics—often being the topic of lively discussion. Bobby's connection with nature shone through his love of fishing and the outdoors, with winter being his favorite season. Not only was he an excellent ice skater, but he also played ice hockey with a combination of skill and infectious enthusiasm.
Those who knew Bobby will remember him as loving, funny, and faith-filled and handy. His laughter was contagious, his presence comforting, and his spirit indomitable. His life was a reflection of the values he held dear, and his legacy will continue to inspire those he has left behind.
As we bid farewell to Robert "Bobby" Moreira, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering faith.
