Rosemary DaTerra Obituary

Rumford - Rosemary Joy (Bigotti) DaTerra, 86, affectionately known as Rosemary to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Dawn Hill Rehab in Bristol, Rhode Island. Born on October 14, 1937, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Rosemary was a daughter of the late John and Rose (Ciarla) Bigotti and a devoted wife to the late John DaTerra. Her passing marks the end of a life rich in love, faith, and joy.

Rosemary spent her entire life in Rumford, where she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Margaret Church. Her spirit of service and dedication to her faith community was a testament to her loving and faith-filled nature. Rosemary was a beacon of warmth and kindness, always extending a helping hand and a comforting word to those around her.

For over 25 years, Rosemary worked diligently as a Secretary for the Standard Transportation Company. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were unparalleled, and she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Even after retiring, Rosemary's influence and legacy at the company remained evident through the lasting relationships she built and the standards she set.

In addition to her career, Rosemary had a variety of interests that enriched her life and those of the people around her. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Her love for gardening allowed her to cultivate not just plants, but also beauty and life in her community. Rosemary's passion for travel took her to many places, broadening her horizons and creating memories that she cherished throughout her life.

Rosemary was predeceased by her siblings, Regolo Bigotti, Mary Maxwell, Thelma Zonfrillo, Rita Camara, and Gloria Aurelio. She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their aunt for her nurturing presence and the wisdom she imparted. Rosemary's family was a source of immense pride and joy for her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to flourish in their hearts.

Rosemary's life was a reflection of the values she held dear - kindness, generosity, and faith. Those who knew her were touched by her loving spirit and inspired by her unwavering positivity. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will live on through the countless lives she impacted.

As we bid farewell to Rosemary Joy (Bigotti) DaTerra, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that truly embodied love and faith. Her memory will be cherished, and her influence will continue to be felt by those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Rosemary's journey on earth may have come to a close, but the light she brought into the world will shine on forever.
