Sherri Stanley Obituary

Sherri A. Stanley,54, of East Providence , a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday  July 24, 2023, at the RI Hospital in Providence. Born on May 15, 1969, in Providence, Rhode Island, Sherri lived a life marked by love, thoughtfulness, and selflessness, touching the lives of many with her warm presence and unwavering positivity.

Sherri was the cherished daughter of the late William and Judy (Motta) Stanley and a proud resident of East Providence. She was the adoring mother of Geoffrey Stanley of Providence, and a loving sister to Lisa Goulden of Riverside. Sherri also held a special place in her heart for her nephews, Michael Goulden of Plymouth, MA, and McKyle Goulden of Riverside, whose lives she enriched with her boundless love and care.

As a devoted student, Sherri graduated with an associate degree, setting a strong foundation for her professional journey. She served as an administrative assistant for over 15 years for the Providence Equity Partners, where she was known for her dedication, attention to detail, and the ability to bring a sense of calm and order to the busiest of days.

Sherri's interests painted a vivid picture of her vibrant personality. She loved going to the beach, immersing herself in the tranquility of the waves and the warmth of the sun. An avid reader, Sherri found joy and solace in the pages of a good book. Her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for her pets and the compassion she showed towards all creatures. However, the cornerstone of Sherri's life was her family. She cherished the moments spent with her loved ones, always ensuring they felt her love and support.

Despite her long, courageous battle with illness, Sherri remained a beacon of positivity. Her family is incredibly grateful for the ICU Teams at RI Hospital and Miriam Hospital, whose expertise, care, and compassion were instrumental in her journey.

Sherri A. Stanley was a woman who embodied love and thoughtfulness in everything she did. She was selfless in her actions, always putting others before herself. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. Sherri's life was a testament to the power of positivity, the strength of love, and the beauty of a life well-lived. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
