Steven Vieira Obituary

Riverside - Steven P. Vieira, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI. Born on December 20, 1947, in Pawtucket, RI, Steven's journey was one marked by devotion, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. He was 76 years old.

Steven's life was a testament to love and partnership, as he shared over 56 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Monica R. (Kdonian) Vieira. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and enduring affection. The son of the late John and Mary (Pacheco) Vieira, Jr., Steven was a man who honored his roots and the values instilled in him from an early age.

A dedicated father, Steven leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength in his children, Kristen Noons and her husband Alfred of Rehoboth, Michael Vieira of East Providence, and he carries with him the loving memory of his late daughter, Andrea Vieira. As a brother, he shared a bond with John Paul Vieira of Florida that was anchored in shared experiences and mutual respect.

Steven's role as a grandfather and great-grandfather was one of his proudest achievements. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Rachael Noons Martelli and her husband David, Madison Noons and her fiancé Brandyn Botelho, and Dallas Noons. The joy of his later years was further enriched by the arrival of his great-grandson, Nolan Martelli, who brought a new spark of happiness into his life.

Professionally, Steven was known for his meticulous work and reliability. For over 12 years, he served as a Fire Alarm inspector for the Simplex Corporation. His colleagues respected him for his expertise and his unwavering sense of duty.

Steven's interests and hobbies were reflective of a man who cherished the simple pleasures in life. An avid golfer, he found solace and joy on the greens, embracing the challenges and tranquility of the sport. His faith was an integral part of his life, and as a parishioner of St. Brendan Church, he found strength and community.

Those who knew Steven would describe him as loving, kind, and thoughtful. He approached life with a gentle demeanor, always placing the needs of others before his own. His actions spoke volumes of his character, and his presence was a source of comfort and stability to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we bid farewell to Steven P. Vieira, we do so with heavy hearts, but also with immense gratitude for the time we shared with him. His influence and love will continue to resonate within the lives of those he touched. He was a beacon of light and love, and his memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
