Theodore Peters Walters

Riverside - Theodore Peter Walters, known affectionately to all as Ted, of Riverside, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the age of 69.

Born on December 31, 1956, in East Providence, Rhode Island, Ted was the loving husband and partner of Cynthia J. Walters, and the devoted son of the late Henry and Rose Marie Walters. He was a cherished father, a proud family man, and someone whose presence brought warmth, steadiness, and kindness to those fortunate enough to know him. Ted lived a life marked by loyalty, generosity, and a deep love for his family, and he will be remembered always for the many ways he cared for others.

Ted was a proud United States Navy Veteran. He served honorably from 1974 to 1978 aboard the USS Vancouver, an experience that reflected his sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to service. His time in the Navy was an important part of his life, and the values he carried from that chapter stayed with him throughout the years. Ted approached life with the same quiet strength and dependability that he brought to his military service, and those who knew him appreciated his steady nature and his unwavering character.

For more than 15 years, Ted worked as a parts manager for Colletta's Towing and Body Shop. He was respected for his work ethic, his knowledge, and the care he brought to his job each day. Ted took pride in doing things the right way, and he earned the trust and admiration of coworkers and customers alike. His dedication to his work reflected the same qualities that defined his life outside of work, including patience, reliability, and a genuine concern for the people around him.

Ted also gave deeply of himself to the bowling community, dedicating over 30 years to the East Providence Junior Bowling Program and the Rhode Island Youth Bowling Association. His commitment to youth bowling touched several generations of young people throughout the state, and his influence reached far beyond the lanes. Ted cherished every young person he ever spent time with, and he invested his time, energy, and encouragement in helping them grow both as bowlers and as individuals. His support left a lasting impression on countless families, and his legacy in the youth bowling community will continue to be felt for many years to come.

Ted loved the Bruins, fishing, and bowling, and he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was following his favorite team, spending time near the water, or sharing time at the bowling alley, he appreciated the moments that brought people together. He was a man who valued companionship, laughter, and shared experiences, and he made those around him feel welcome and included. His interests were a reflection of who he was, a man who enjoyed life, loved his community, and found happiness in the things that connected him to others.

Ted will be lovingly remembered by his son, Derek Walters, and his wife, Denise; his daughter, Ashlee Walters Goss, and her children, Michaela and Lacee; and his daughter of the heart, Jessica D'Alessio, and her daughter, Jayden Kennedy. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, teammates, and members of the bowling community who will miss him dearly. Ted's life was one of love, kindness, and generosity, and he gave freely of himself to his family and to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

He was a loving, kind, and generous man whose memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him. Ted's life was a testament to devotion to family, service to country, commitment to community, and compassion for others. Though he is no longer with us, the example he set and the love he shared will endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

His visitation and funeral services and Military Honors, were held privately on Saturday June 20,2026 in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, East Providence.
