East Providence - Thomas R. Silva,68, affectionately known as Tom, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Hope Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island. Born on March 4, 1957, in Pawtucket, RI, he was the cherished son of the late George and Elizabeth (Duarte) Silva. Thomas was a kind, friendly, and gentle man whose presence enriched the lives of those around him.
A lifelong resident of East Providence, Thomas was a former parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church, where he participated in various community activities. His commitment to his community was further exemplified by his membership in the Knights of Columbus, East Providence Council 1528. Thomas was deeply embedded in his local community and will be remembered for his unwavering dedication and service.
Thomas began his career in the produce department at the former Almac's Supermarket, where he was known for his hard work and amiable nature. He later transitioned to an office position at East Bay Construction Company, where he continued to demonstrate his strong work ethic and ability to connect with his colleagues.
Beyond his professional life, Thomas was a man of many interests. He was an avid softball player, known for his sportsmanship and love of the game. His passion for cards brought joy to many game nights, with hi-lo jack being one of his favorite pastimes. A true sports enthusiast, Thomas never missed an opportunity to cheer on all the Boston sports teams, sharing in the camaraderie and excitement with friends and family.
Thomas's love for good food and good company was evident to anyone who knew him. He relished going out to eat, indulging in the flavors of the local cuisine, and engaging in lively conversation over a meal. His warm and welcoming nature made every dining experience a memorable one.

His funeral service will take place on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 12:00pm in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
