William McMahon, Jr. Obituary

Riverside - William E. McMahon, Jr., affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 at the RI Hospital, Providence on July 5, 2023. Born on September 18, 1940, in Providence, RI, Bill was a beloved figure in his community and fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit and a sense of humor that could light up any room.

Bill was the devoted husband of the late Audrey (Choquette) McMahon, he was also the companion of Kathy Watts of Riverside. He was a loving father to his children, William E. McMahon, III, of Riverside, Brenda Lee Branco of Cranston, and to the late Lori Ann Kinnecom and the late Kelly Jean Cruz. His joy was magnified by the love of his grandchildren Billy, Kendra, Zachary, Victoria, Amber, Corey, Katie and Jason Branco, and great-grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with his wisdom and playful nature.

He was born to the late William E. and Margaret (Pimental) McMahon, Sr., and was the cherished brother of Carolyn McMahon, Barbara Larance, Richard McMahon, Diane D'Ascoli of East Providence, and Raymond McMahon of Chepachet. Bill was also the brother of the late Patricia Baird, and LeRoy McMahon. His family was his anchor, and he was theirs.

Bill was a dedicated and hard-working individual. He spent over 25 years as a maintenance worker for the New England Printed Tape Company formerly of Pawtucket, RI. His commitment to his work was an embodiment of his strong work ethic, and he was well-respected by his colleagues.

Bill was not just all work and no play. He was an active member of the West Barrington Men's Club, where he formed many enduring friendships. He had a zest for life that was infectious. His interests were varied and numerous. He enjoyed fishing and camping, activities that allowed him to embrace his adventurous spirit. Bill was also a whiz at crossword puzzles, a testament to his sharp mind.

He had a heart for service and contributed to his community as a former Cub Scout leader and baseball coach. His leadership and guidance had a positive impact on many young lives. Bill was also an animal lover and enjoyed the companionship of his dogs, Buddy and Chico. His pets were his faithful companions, and he cherished the time spent with them.

In remembering Bill, one cannot overlook his sense of humor. He had the ability to find humor in the everyday, and his laughter was truly contagious. He brought joy to those around him, making ordinary moments extraordinary. He was a beacon of warmth, and his legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him.

William E. McMahon, Jr. lived a full and meaningful life. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us.
